Elmago Concern Centre currently undertakes research programs/projects in East Africa. The field work projects are predominantly an active form of practical research to demonstrate a hypothesis - will a new approach work and how? Will a methodology successfully applied in one location or community be effective in a different one? Successful demonstrations in our projects are used to create wider impact through 'scaling-up'these activities above and beyond the core capacity of our projects. We do not only need to know what project achieves or fails to achieve, but how project work was undertaken from the social, economic, environmental and technological perspectives.
